July Display

This week, I’d like to share with you news from inside the store including specials,a neat product, our new display, and a warning from Canon. We have introduced a new special this past week that I think you will find interesting, to say the least. It will save you money and its fun at the same time.

What I’m talking about of course is Happy Hour. We have started offering 19 cent prints on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm to 6pm. They are our next-day high quality lab prints and of course the offer is subject to change without notice, but for now we are offering this service. The normal price is 35 to 29 cents per photo depending on quantity, so you are saving a lot of money and still getting our high quality print. Omega is great because our printer looks at each of the high quality lab print photos and color and density corrects them so your photos are looking their best! This service is included in the Happy Hour prints as well. We make each of our prints with care.

The neat product of the week is called the Media Tube. The Media Tube is a high definition card reader for your HDTV. You simply hook up the Media Tube to your television with the supplied component cables and voila! Your pictures will be displayed in stunning 1080i definition. It can play digital photos, MPEG movie files, and MP3 music files all on your television. Also, you can use the Media Tube as a universal card reader with either a PC or a Mac. It allows for high speed transfer of your photos, music and movies to your computer. It even comes with a remote control!

This month we are featuring artist, Stephanie Haller. She is showing thirteen images displaying nature and kids. She received her Bachelors degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Humboldt State University. Stephanie is an award winning photojournalist, who enjoys photography, design, journalism and public relations. Her company, Stephanie Haller Photography, specializes in children and family portraiture. They will be branching out into wedding photography by the end of 2009.

If you have a 5D Mark II, you’d better listen up. There is an unofficial firmware update from a non-Canon website that may harm your camera. If there is a firmware update, it will always be released from the Canon website. Canon does not endorse this firmware update no matter what you may have heard. The firmware update promises to increase low light capabilities and adapt a wide range of lenses. This unofficial firmware update has no relation to Canon and installing non-Canon firmware may render your camera unusable. In short, if you didn’t get the firmware from Canon, don’t use it.

And so, I say goodbye for another week. I hope you enjoyed the blog this week. I think I gave you a lot of content, but I am hoping you found some of it useful. Thanks a ton!

DVD Slideshows

The product I’d like to feature this week is our DVD slide-show. This service takes approximately 2 to 3 days from digital files and 5 to 7 days from hard copy photographs. It may take more or less time depending on your needs. The DVD slide-show starts at $34.99 and includes placing your photographs into a movie format for your DVD player. Music can be added at no charge, but you must supply it at the time you place the order.

I can make a DVD slide-show from either digital files or hard copy photographs. If you bring in the hard copy photographs, they will first need to be scanned. You have the choice of a high resolution scan for $3 per photograph or a low resolution scan for $30 for up to 100 photos plus 30ยข per photograph after the first 100. When I finish your DVD, I will put it in a nice DVD case with a nice DVD case cover.

Check out the classes tab. It has been updated with new information about the classes we are offering. We have scheduled some classes for your convenience on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. There is even a Saturday class!
