Omega’s Facelift

Thanks for taking the time to read the Omega Photo blog. I will try to give you important information as well as some money saving information this week. This week I will bring you both Canon service updates, Canon Live Learning Center information, and the updates we are having in the store.

On Friday, I came in to Omega to see all the cabinets ripped right out. Now I’ve been out for a couple days so I was not in the loop on this. I thought we had been robbed. So here I am thinking that we have been robbed when all of the sudden new cabinets came in. To my delight, we are currently remodeling! If you come into the store over the next few days, we are not moving out. Its rather the opposite. We are updating our look and trying to make things easier for you to find. So please, pardon our mess and if your favorite products aren’t where they used to be, don’t be shy, please ask us.

We are having a digital filter sale. It is a great buy. The Promaster Digital Filters are 20% off. Promaster Digital filters come in UV filters and Circular Polarizer filters. The benefits of these filters are the Digital Anti-Reflective Multi-Coating, Black Rimmed Glass and the Low Profile Frame. The Digital Anti-Reflective Multi-Coating is really something that you need to see to believe, so come ask for a demonstration in store. The Black Rimmed Glass reduces reflections inside the camera and the Low Profile Frame ensures that you do not have vignetting on the new digital wide lenses. The UV filter is really a necessity as it protects your lenses. These filters are going fast and we do have a limited quantity on hand. Check in the store for this great deal.

Canon Service Update: http://tinyurl.com/qk2cmu This update addresses the 1D and 1Ds Mark III’s that exhibit a large ring shaped spot on their photos. This is caused by lubricant from the mirror box making its way to the low pass filter in front of the sensor. If you have this problem Canon asks that you contact them for a free cleaning. Their contact information is on the bottom of the linked page.

Canon Learning Live Center: http://tinyurl.com/cmf56b The Canon Learning Live Center is for individuals who have a camera in the EOS System. This is a really neat site. It shows you the dates and times for EOS classes and programs that are available. You can register online for the classes as well. Another neat feature is the search by city or instructor feature. If you particularly prefer an instructor, you can see all the classes which that person will be teaching. If you live close to a major city, you can see all the classes that are offered in that city. Currently it does not seem that there are any classes for the Seattle area.

Introduction

Welcome to the Omega Photo Blog. This is a new feature we have added to our website. We are so excited to be able to bring you vital information through our blog. Things to look for in our blog are specials, new products, local happenings and photography ideas. We will strive to keep you informed on everything from firmware updates to our in-store classes.

Right now we are having a great sale on compact cameras. Starting at $99, you can get a choose from Pentax, Samsung or Casio camera. My personal favorites are the Samsung cameras. They feature a Schneider lens, one of the sharpest I have seen on a compact digital camera. We have a Pentax camera that accepts AA batteries, which is a great easy starter camera. Our Casio camera is slim and easy to use and features a rechargeable battery and battery charger. It has a best shot mode, to ensure you get the best photo every time.

Follow us on Twitter! Http://www.twitter.com/omegaphoto Our digital artist, Laura, posts happenings around the store and great articles. Many people find out Twitter to be helpful or interesting and are following our twitter. If you have twitter, or are familiar with it, you should definitely check it out.

Out portrait lighting class is coming soon. Thursday June 4, 2009. Check out the in-store brochures, or send us an email for more information. omega@omegaphoto.biz Here’s the skinny: we will cover topics such as lighting styles, lighting ratios and light modifiers. There will be plenty of time to get all your questions answered. The class will be taught by our own Erik Mosvold. He has been photographing professionally for 30 years.
